Job Description:
This position is perfect for an experience Lead Atlassian Migration Architect to lead comprehensive migration assessments across multiple Atlassian instances for a premier gaming software company. This is a high-visibility, client-facing role where you'll serve as the primary engagement lead and trusted advisor, conducting deep technical analysis and defining strategic migration roadmaps that will guide future implementation efforts.
What You'll Do
Strategic Assessment Leadership
- Serve as primary point of contact for all stakeholder groups, from executive leadership to technical teams throughout the assessment phase
- Lead discovery workshops and stakeholder sessions to uncover business drivers, technical constraints, and organizational priorities
- Define migration strategies and roadmaps for multiple Atlassian instances, providing clear direction for future implementation teams
- Translate assessment findings into executive recommendations, ensuring alignment with compliance requirements and corporate objectives
Technical Discovery & Analysis
- Conduct comprehensive assessment activities across multiple Jira, Confluence, and related Atlassian instances
- Analyze application ecosystems, identifying dependencies, integration points, and opportunities for modernization or deprecation
- Evaluate technical debt and risk factors across each instance to inform migration approach and sequencing
- Design recommended migration sequencing that minimizes risk and business disruption while maximizing efficiency
- Develop risk mitigation strategies and planning recommendations for future migration execution.
Deliverable Ownership
You will be accountable for working with a team to produce and present:
- Migration Strategy per Instance – Recommended approach with technical and business rationale for future execution
- App and Integration Assessment – Complete inventory with migration paths and replacement recommendations
- Scope Definition and Risk Register – Clear boundaries, identified risks, and mitigation strategies
- Migration Timeline per Instance – Estimated effort, duration, and cost projections for planning purposes
- Consolidated Migration Roadmap – Program-level sequencing with dependencies and resource requirements
- Executive Summary Presentation – Final strategic workshop with C-level and senior stakeholders presenting assessment findings and recommendations
Requirements:
- 7+ years of Atlassian expertise with deep knowledge of Jira (Software, Service Management, Work Management), Confluence, and the broader ecosystem
- Proven track record conducting enterprise migration assessments involving multiple instances, complex integrations, and large user populations
- Strong architectural assessment capabilities – ability to evaluate technical debt, analyze marketplace apps, and design scalable migration approaches
- Executive presence and communication skills – comfortable presenting assessment findings to C-suite and translating technical analysis for business audiences
- Workshop facilitation expertise – skilled at driving consensus among diverse stakeholder groups with competing priorities during discovery
- Experience assessing Data Center and/or Cloud platforms, including migration path analysis between them
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or similar major required.
Beneficial Skills:
- Hands on experience with one or more of the following languages is a plus, but not required: Java, C#, SQL, Groovy, Perl, CSS, Javascript, Node JS
