It’s time to lift the curtain again and take a look behind the scenes to see who actually works at catworkx. Today we want to introduce you to another important area at catworkx: our sales team. The colleagues from Sales are the first point of contact for external inquiries. Of course, they are also responsible for customer care. One person who knows how things work and how important a good team is is our sales manager. The “head” of the team is a genuine and convinced Cologne resident (Cologne, the most beautiful city in the world, as he says himself) and is called: Dirk Zöllner. We asked him how his team is set up and why he enjoys working in this field so much. But we also asked our colleagues from Austria and Switzerland for their opinion.
Dirk: “My name is Dirk Zöllner and I am the sales manager of catworkx GmbH in Germany. I would be happy to introduce you to my colleagues and their activities in sales.
The sales team currently consists of 8 people. 4 employees look after the customers – divided according to postal code areas. One employee is responsible as an account manager for the support of a few firmly defined key accounts. One colleague is a licensing specialist, a cloud specialist. Another colleague assists with order processing. She is also currently working her way into the topic of the cloud. A topic that is highly topical and will become even more important in the future.
Basically, Sales at catworkx is responsible for customer support as well as for the internal processing of quotations and orders. I myself still look after customers in Germany in the zip code area 5 – 7. However, this will change on July 1, 2022, when a new colleague will start at catworkx and support me.
Each sales representative has the task of familiarizing himself/herself with his/her focus topic, territory or customers. The great art of sales today is to understand the strategy of one’s customers. Then it is a matter of embedding the respective services of catworkx in the strategy of its customer, so that the customer can fulfill its short-, medium- and also long-term goals.
Each sales employee:in is required to create a plan for the respective customer and their territory. As a sales representative, I need to understand the customer’s needs in order to advise them on the right products for them. This applies to both new and existing customers. The goal behind every consultation is always to work in partnership with the client on a long-term basis.
It is the responsibility of the licensing and cloud specialist to transparently show the customer why they should use Atlassian Cloud or on-premise licenses, for example. Which they do … 😉
In general, therefore, it can be said that the Sales division of catworkx is responsible for the entire sales process, from the acceptance of the inquiry, through consulting, individual services and contract negotiations, to order acceptance and processing. Of course, this applies not only to Germany – but also to Switzerland and Austria.
Why I like working here is quickly explained: I have a great team. The team spirit is special. Here, one helps the other. But the atmosphere in the team is also great. We are always happy when we get the opportunity to see each other “in real life” – at catworkx events, like the last time when the burger truck for the employees rolled up on the Kanalplatz in Hamburg. Some of the employees always spend the night in catworkx’s own apartment – that’s when an evening gets longer, because we also do some private things together. For example, two colleagues meet regularly in Bavaria to go hiking. During the lockdown we met in the evenings via Zoom and spent really funny evenings. And on the 22nd of June it will happen again: Sales will meet again at a common event. Of course in the most beautiful city in the world.” 😉
